Legal data infrastructure built for machine callers.
GovLaws is an API-first legal data platform for AI agents, retrieval systems, and compliance workflows. The product turns official U.S. federal sources into predictable JSON responses that carry the legal citation, current text or search snippet, upstream source URL, freshness timestamp, and machine-readable provenance. That contract helps an agent answer not only “what does this rule say?” but also “where did this text come from, how current is it, and is the source suitable for this use?”
Current public coverage includes federal regulations from eCFR, regulatory change events from the Federal Register, official-artifact links from GovInfo when available, and canary U.S. Code sections sourced from the Office of the Law Revision Counsel. GovLaws explicitly distinguishes current eCFR text from an official legal edition. Agents should use the returned trust codes and citation-suitability fields instead of guessing from prose or treating every government publication as interchangeable.
GovLaws offers recurring API-key access, a read-only remote MCP server, MPP pay-per-request access over Tempo, and a separate x402 lane on Base. The same shared legal logic powers these lanes so payment or transport choice does not change the underlying data contract. GovLaws provides legal information infrastructure, not legal advice, and encourages users to preserve upstream citations and official-source links in downstream work.
